Members of the St. Rose SVDP Conference volunteered at the Good Friday luncheon at St. Mark’s parish in Altoona. They helped to set up for the luncheon, cook and serve the food, and clean up after the meal was over. A total of 115 meals were served to those in need. As always we had more food than we needed and we delivered what was left to the Altoona Homeless Shelter run by Family Services.

ST. ROSE OF LIMA CONTINUES WITH ITS HOMELESS SUPPORT PROGRAM
The St. Rose of Lima St Vincent de Paul Conference collected hooded sweatshirts for use by Family Services in their homeless/needy programs. Through the month of November Parish members from St. Rose, St. Patrick, and St. Thomas More donated slightly worn and new hooded sweatshirts towards this worthy cause. A total of 266 sweatshirts, along with 17 coats and 6 hats, were delivered to Family Services by Conference members. Dan Weaver, St. Rose Conference president, said, “The members of the St. Rose of Lima SVDP Conference would like to say thank you to all the parish members who donated to this noble cause. When we give to the poor, God indeed pours his love, peace, and joy into our hearts, into our lives and into the hearts of those who are poor. God Bless You All!” |
